Our Rotating Equipment Service successfully repaired an ethylene recip compressor at a company located in the Leuna Chemical Park. In just two and a half weeks, five service technicians completely refurbished and modernised the piston compressor. The project was particularly interesting because the compressor was a now rare ‘Halberstadt’ model.

During the scheduled inspection, the Bücker + Essing team completely dismantled, cleaned and measured the piston compressor. Our mobile service reworked many reusable components directly on site; however, some of the components, for instance several step cylinders, were mechanically reworked in our workshop in Lingen and were returned to Leuna on time to be fitted and accepted. As the piston compressor was an older model from the former manufacturer ‘Halberstadt’, Bücker + Essing needed to re-engineer some parts during the course of the project aligning it with the state of the art. This ensures reliable production for the next new years.
